According to the author of 1 Chronicles, David and all the Israelites went to a place called Kirjathjearim to bring back the special box, the Ark of God, where God's presence was, and it was a very important and happy event for them. They believed this box showed that God was with them and helped them.

1 Chronicles 13:6: And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, [that is], to Kirjathjearim, which [belonged] to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the LORD, that dwelleth [between] the cherubims, whose name is called [on it].

Contradiction with 2 Samuel 6:2

Chronicles describes David bringing the ark from Baalah, which is Kiriath-jearim, whereas 2 Samuel uses a different name for the location, Baale of Judah.

2 Samuel 6:2: And David arose, and went with all the people that [were] with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth [between] the cherubims. [Baale: or, Baalah, that is, Kirjathjearim] [whose name...: or, at which the name, even the name of the LORD of hosts, was called upon]

Paradox #1

The contradiction in 1 Chronicles 13:6 could arise from the fact that while the intent to bring the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem was good, the method used in transporting it disregarded specific instructions previously given on how the Ark should be handled. This reflects a conflict between good intentions and the importance of following established divine instructions.
