Contradiction with Ecclesiastes 9:5
This verse states that the dead know nothing, contradicting the hope in the resurrection and living hope mentioned in 1 Peter 1:3.
Ecclesiastes 9:5: For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
Contradiction with 2 Samuel 12:23
David expresses that he will go to his deceased child, not that the child will return, which contrasts with the idea of being "begotten again unto a lively hope" in 1 Peter 1:3.
2 Samuel 12:23: But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.
Contradiction with Job 14:10-12
Job speaks of a man lying down and not rising again till the heavens are no more, contradicting the immediate hope of resurrection in 1 Peter 1:3.
Job 14:10-12: But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where [is] he? [wasteth...: Heb. is weakened, or, cut off]
