Check out Contradictions Catalog of 2 Chronicles 1:4 for the comprehensive list of verses that contradicts 2 Chronicles 1:4. Some key contradictions and paradoxes are described below.

According to the chronicler, David moved a special, holy box called the Ark of God to a special tent he set up in Jerusalem. He did this because he wanted the Ark, which was very important, to be in the best place.

2 Chronicles 1:4: But the ark of God had David brought up from Kirjathjearim to [the place which] David had prepared for it: for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.

Contradiction with 1 Kings 8:1

Mentions Solomon assembling the elders of Israel to bring the ark of the covenant from the City of David but omits bringing it up from Kirjath-jearim as in 2 Chronicles 1:4.

1 Kings 8:1: Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which [is] Zion. [chief: Heb. princes]

Contradiction with 2 Samuel 6:2

References David going to bring the ark up from Baale of Judah (another name for Kirjath-jearim) which seems different from the account of the ark being initially placed in Jerusalem by David according to 2 Chronicles 1:4.

2 Samuel 6:2: And David arose, and went with all the people that [were] with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth [between] the cherubims. [Baale: or, Baalah, that is, Kirjathjearim] [whose name...: or, at which the name, even the name of the LORD of hosts, was called upon]

Contradiction with 2 Chronicles 5:2

States Solomon gathered Israel to bring the ark from the City of David, without mentioning it was brought up from Kirjath-jearim by David as implied in 2 Chronicles 1:4.

2 Chronicles 5:2: Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which [is] Zion.

Contradiction with 1 Chronicles 13:5-6

Describes David bringing the ark from Kirjath-jearim to the house of Obed-edom, not directly to the tent in Jerusalem, which suggests a different sequence than mentioned in 2 Chronicles 1:4.

1 Chronicles 13:5-6: So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjathjearim.
