According to the author of the book, the verse describes a large basin, called the "Sea," in the temple, decorated with carvings of oxen all around. These oxen figures were like statues made when the basin was created, showing strength and support.
2 Chronicles 4:3: And under it [was] the similitude of oxen, which did compass it round about: ten in a cubit, compassing the sea round about. Two rows of oxen [were] cast, when it was cast.
This verse describes the decoration around the Sea in Solomon's Temple as "knops" instead of the oxen depicted in 2 Chronicles 4:3.
1 Kings 7:24: And under the brim of it round about [there were] knops compassing it, ten in a cubit, compassing the sea round about: the knops [were] cast in two rows, when it was cast.
