Contradiction with 1 Kings 9:22
1 Kings 9:22 states that Solomon did not make any Israelites his slaves, contradicting 2 Chronicles 8:10 which implies Israelites were among those in Solomon's forced labor.
1 Kings 9:22: But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no bondmen: but they [were] men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots, and his horsemen.
Contradiction with 2 Chronicles 2:17-18
These verses mention a different number of non-Israelite laborers than the 250 referred to in 2 Chronicles 8:10 as chief officers.
2 Chronicles 2:17-18: And Solomon numbered all the strangers that [were] in the land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David his father had numbered them; and they were found an hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred. [the strangers: Heb. the men the strangers]
Paradox #1
The contradiction in 2 Chronicles 8:10 could be related to the number of officials mentioned. In some translations, the verse mentions 250 officials, while a similar verse in 1 Kings 9:23 mentions 550 officials. This difference in numbers creates a discrepancy between the two accounts.
