Contradiction with 1 Kings 11:1
While 2 Chronicles 9:1 describes the Queen of Sheba visiting Solomon, 1 Kings 11:1 focuses on Solomon's love for many foreign women, which is a different narrative and suggests a potential conflict of interest or distraction from royal duties.
1 Kings 11:1: But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, [and] Hittites; [together...: or, beside]
Contradiction with 2 Chronicles 9:9
Although connected to the same event, 2 Chronicles 9:9 describes the Queen of Sheba giving gifts to Solomon, which could contradict the notion of her solely testing him with hard questions as mentioned in 2 Chronicles 9:1.
2 Chronicles 9:9: And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices great abundance, and precious stones: neither was there any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave king Solomon.
Contradiction with Matthew 12:42
This verse contrasts with 2 Chronicles 9:1 by referring to the Queen of Sheba as the "queen of the south" and asserting she will rise in judgment against the people of Jesus' time, expanding her role beyond a visitor to Solomon.
Matthew 12:42: The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon [is] here.
