Contradiction with Proverbs 6:16-17
"These six things doth the Lord hate...A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood." This passage contradicts Athaliah's actions, as she sheds innocent blood through murder.

Contradiction with Romans 12:19
"Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath..." This verse contradicts Athaliah's taking vengeance into her own hands by murdering the royal family.

Contradiction with Matthew 7:12
"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them..." Athaliah's actions contradict the principle of treating others as you would like to be treated, seen in her violent seizure of power.
