Contradiction with Joshua 10:13
Whereas 2 Kings 20:11 describes the shadow going backward, Joshua 10:13 describes the sun standing still, altering time differently.
Joshua 10:13: And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. [Is] not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. [Jasher: or, the upright?]
Contradiction with Ecclesiastes 1:5
Ecclesiastes states the sun rises and sets routinely without mention of any miraculous event like in 2 Kings 20:11.
Ecclesiastes 1:5: The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose. [hasteth: Heb. panteth]
Paradox #1
The event described involves making a shadow move backward, which contradicts our understanding of physics and the behavior of shadows and light. Normally, a shadow's movement is determined by the position of the light source, such as the sun, which moves in a predictable manner across the sky due to Earth's rotation. Reversing a shadow would require altering the natural laws of physics or Earth's rotation. This kind of event cannot be explained by current scientific understanding.
