Contradiction with Exodus 20:12
This verse commands honoring one's father and mother, while 2 Samuel 16:3 involves Mephibosheth seemingly showing disloyalty to David, whom he regarded as a father figure.
Exodus 20:12: Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Contradiction with Proverbs 24:21
Advises to fear the Lord and the king and not associate with those given to change, contrasting with Mephibosheth's alleged shift in allegiance.
Proverbs 24:21: My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: [and] meddle not with them that are given to change: [them...: Heb. changers]
Contradiction with Colossians 3:9
Encourages not to lie to one another, directly contradicting Ziba's deceptive portrayal of Mephibosheth's actions.
Colossians 3:9: Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
Contradiction with Matthew 5:37
Admonishes letting your 'yes' be 'yes,' and your 'no' be 'no'; contrasting with the deceit evident in the explanation of Mephibosheth's supposed intentions.
Matthew 5:37: But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
Paradox #1
In 2 Samuel, there's some conflict because Ziba, a servant, claims that Mephibosheth, Saul's grandson, is trying to take over the kingdom. But later, in 2 Samuel 19, Mephibosheth tells David that Ziba lied to him. This creates inconsistency about who is telling the truth.
