Contradiction with 1 Chronicles 15:27
While 2 Samuel 6:14 mentions David wearing a linen ephod, this verse says David was clothed with a robe of fine linen as well.
1 Chronicles 15:27: And David [was] clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also [had] upon him an ephod of linen. [song: or, carriage]
Contradiction with 1 Samuel 18:7
In 2 Samuel 6:14, David dances before the Lord, but in 1 Samuel 18:7, he is celebrated by the people for military achievements rather than religious fervor.
1 Samuel 18:7: And the women answered [one another] as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.
Contradiction with 1 Kings 21:27
2 Samuel 6:14 shows David dancing in joy, whereas 1 Kings 21:27 describes Ahab displaying humility through sackcloth and fasting instead of dancing.
1 Kings 21:27: And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.
Contradiction with 2 Samuel 6:20
While 2 Samuel 6:14 highlights David dancing before the Lord, 2 Samuel 6:20 records Michal criticizing David’s actions, suggesting it was undignified.
2 Samuel 6:20: Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself! [shamelessly: or, openly]
Paradox #1
The contradiction or conflict might be seen in the expression of joy and worship through dance in this verse, which contrasts with other parts of the Bible where certain forms of physical expression or immodesty might be discouraged. Some people might see this as inconsistent with teachings about humility or restraint in other scriptures.
