According to Luke, as Paul was traveling to Damascus, a super bright light from heaven suddenly surrounded him. It was like a surprising burst of sunshine right in the middle of his journey.

Acts 22:6: And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.
