According to Moses, God showed his power by making the sea water cover and stop the army of Egypt when they were chasing the Israelites. This helps Christians remember that God can protect and take care of his people.
Deuteronomy 11:4: And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and [how] the LORD hath destroyed them unto this day;
Exodus 14:28 states that all the Egyptians were drowned in the sea, consistent with Deuteronomy 11:4, so there is no direct contradiction with Deuteronomy 11:4 in this verse.
Exodus 14:28: And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, [and] all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.
