Contradiction with Exodus 34:27
Says that Moses wrote the words, contradicting Exodus 34:1 where God declares He will write them.
Exodus 34:27: And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.
Contradiction with Exodus 31:18
Indicates that God gave Moses the tablets written by His own finger, which could contrast with the idea of God writing them again in Exodus 34:1.
Exodus 31:18: And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
Paradox #1
Exodus 34:1 might have a contradiction with earlier verses about the stone tablets, as it mentions God telling Moses to chisel out two stone tablets, like the first ones, to rewrite the commandments. This could seem inconsistent because in Exodus 32, Moses is described as breaking the original tablets in anger, but God had inscribed them initially. The difference in who is doing the chiseling might raise questions about consistency in the narrative.
