Contradiction with Genesis 7:21-22
These verses describe how all living flesh died, contradicting the flourishing life and abundance described in Ezekiel 47:9.
Genesis 7:21-22: And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:
Contradiction with Joshua 3:15-16
The Jordan River is stopped, preventing flow and life, unlike the healing river in Ezekiel 47:9.
Joshua 3:15-16: And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,)
Contradiction with Revelation 8:9
This verse mentions the death of sea creatures, in contrast to the life-giving water in Ezekiel 47:9.
Revelation 8:9: And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
Paradox #1
Ezekiel 47:9 talks about abundant life in a river flowing from a temple, making salty water fresh. This could conflict with historical geography or environmental conditions. Some might argue there's no evidence of such rivers or transformation in that region. However, these descriptions are often seen as symbolic or prophetic, not literal historical accounts.
Paradox #2
Ezekiel 47:9 talks about water having a life-giving quality, making everything it touches live, including abundant fish in a river. A potential scientific conflict could be the idea that water alone doesn't automatically bring life or make everything thrive. Scientifically, bodies of water need specific environmental conditions and nutrients to support a diverse and healthy ecosystem. Just having water isn't enough for life to flourish without these other factors.
