Contradiction with Deuteronomy 32:35
This verse states that vengeance is the Lord's, contradicting Joseph’s question implying authority to judge or punish.
Deuteronomy 32:35: To me [belongeth] vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in [due] time: for the day of their calamity [is] at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.
Contradiction with Romans 12:19
Similar to Deuteronomy, this verse instructs believers not to take revenge, which parallels the sentiment in Genesis 50:19 and contrasts with the idea of personal retribution.
Romans 12:19: Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Contradiction with Matthew 5:44
This suggests loving enemies and praying for persecutors, which contrasts the belief in exercising personal judgment or authority.
Matthew 5:44: But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Paradox #1
The moral conflict in that verse might come from the idea of forgiving someone who intended harm. On one hand, it teaches forgiveness and trust in a greater plan, but on the other hand, it could be seen as allowing wrongdoing to go unpunished or not holding the wrongdoers accountable, which can be seen as a contradiction.
