Contradiction with 2 Kings 18:1
Isaiah 36:1 mentions the fourteenth year of Hezekiah, while 2 Kings 18:1 starts with his reign in the third year of Hoshea, creating a chronological conflict.
2 Kings 18:1: Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, [that] Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign. [Hezekiah: he is called Ezekias]
Contradiction with 2 Kings 18:13
Isaiah 36:1 says Sennacherib came up against Judah in the fourteenth year of Hezekiah's reign, whereas 2 Kings 18:13 also mentions this invasion but gives a different preceding historical context.
2 Kings 18:13: Now in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah did Sennacherib king of Assyria come up against all the fenced cities of Judah, and took them. [Sennacherib: Heb. Sanherib]
Contradiction with 2 Chronicles 32:1
Similarly to Isaiah 36:1, this verse recounts Sennacherib's invasion but places different emphasis and details compared to the narrative in Isaiah.
2 Chronicles 32:1: After these things, and the establishment thereof, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself. [to win...: Heb. to break them up]
