Contradiction with Jeremiah 6:2
This verse describes God’s people as a beautiful and delicate woman, in contrast to the impending exile and destruction in Jeremiah 13:20, where the beauty of God’s flock is questioned.
Jeremiah 6:2: I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate [woman]. [comely: or, dwelling at home]
Contradiction with Isaiah 3:26
This verse predicts a future where gates lament and mourn, contradicting the hope or return referenced in Jeremiah 13:20.
Isaiah 3:26: And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she [being] desolate shall sit upon the ground. [desolate: or, emptied: Heb. cleansed]
Contradiction with Ezekiel 34:14
God promises rich pastures for His flock in this verse, which conflicts with Jeremiah 13:20’s theme of destruction and loss of flock.
Ezekiel 34:14: I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and [in] a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.
