Contradiction with Jeremiah 16:13
This verse contradicts with Jeremiah 16:15 by stating that the people will serve other gods in a foreign land, whereas 16:15 speaks of bringing them back to their own land.
Jeremiah 16:13: Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that ye know not, [neither] ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour.
Contradiction with Jeremiah 20:4
This verse predicts that those who dwell in Judah will be handed over to the enemy, in contrast to 16:15 where the return to their land is assured.
Jeremiah 20:4: For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will make thee a terror to thyself, and to all thy friends: and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall behold [it]: and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive into Babylon, and shall slay them with the sword.
Contradiction with Ezekiel 5:10
Here it predicts calamity and scattering among nations, opposing 16:15 which promises return from all lands where they were driven.
Ezekiel 5:10: Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of thee, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments in thee, and the whole remnant of thee will I scatter into all the winds.
Contradiction with Ezekiel 12:15-16
These verses speak of dispersion and enslavement, not return, contradicting the promise of restoration in Jeremiah 16:15.
Ezekiel 12:15-16: And they shall know that I [am] the LORD, when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them in the countries.
Contradiction with Lamentations 4:22
Suggests punishment is complete, conflicting with 16:15's theme of continued return from exile.
Lamentations 4:22: The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no more carry thee away into captivity: he will visit thine iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will discover thy sins. [The...: or, Thine iniquity] [discover...: or, carry thee captive for thy sins]
