According to Jeremiah, God is saying that even though the king's house is very special to Him, like a beautiful place, He will still make it empty and lonely if they do not follow His ways. This means it's important to listen and do what God wants to keep things good and happy.
Jeremiah 22:6: For thus saith the LORD unto the king's house of Judah; Thou [art] Gilead unto me, [and] the head of Lebanon: [yet] surely I will make thee a wilderness, [and] cities [which] are not inhabited.
While Jeremiah 22:6 speaks of desolation and destruction upon the house of David, Jeremiah 33:14-16 promises the fulfillment of a good word, with restoration and righteousness under a descendant of David.
Jeremiah 33:14-16: Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.
