According to Jeremiah, God promises that even if things seem really bad and it looks like He has given up on the families of Jacob and David, He will still love them and bring them back to a good place. He will be kind and help them have good leaders again.
Jeremiah 33:26: Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, [so] that I will not take [any] of his seed [to be] rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
This verse states that God will not cast off the seed of Israel despite all they have done, which contrasts with Jeremiah 33:26, where He speaks of casting off the seed of Jacob and David's descendants.
Jeremiah 31:37: Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.
