Contradiction with 1 Timothy 2:12
This verse states that a woman should not teach or have authority over a man, which contradicts Judges 4:4, where Deborah is described as a prophetess and judge, leading Israel.
1 Timothy 2:12: But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
Contradiction with 1 Corinthians 14:34
This verse instructs women to remain silent in churches and be submissive, contrasting with Deborah's active leadership role in Judges 4:4.
1 Corinthians 14:34: Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but [they are commanded] to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
Contradiction with Genesis 3:16
This verse says men will rule over women, contradicting Deborah's authority as a judge in Israel as described in Judges 4:4.
Genesis 3:16: Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire [shall be] to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. [to thy...: or, subject to thy husband]
Paradox #1
Some people might see a contradiction in Judges 4:4 because women were often not in positions of authority in the cultural context of the Bible, yet Deborah was a female leader and prophet. This might seem inconsistent with other parts where male leadership is more prominent. However, other interpretations see her role as showing that God can choose anyone for leadership.
