Contradiction with John 6:12-13
These verses mention gathering fragments after feeding the 5,000, which differ in the number of baskets compared to Mark 8:19.
John 6:12-13: When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.
Contradiction with Mark 6:43
In Mark 6:43 the number of baskets taken up differs from the account in Mark 8:19.
Mark 6:43: And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.
Contradiction with Matthew 16:9
This verse references the feeding of the 5,000, differing in context from the feeding of the 4,000 mentioned in Mark 8:19.
Matthew 16:9: Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
Contradiction with Luke 9:17
The account of the feeding of the 5,000 in Luke 9:17 contrasts with the amounts given in Mark 8:19.
Luke 9:17: And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.
Paradox #1
Mark 8:19 mentions the miracle where Jesus fed 5,000 people with five loaves of bread. A contradiction might arise when compared with other gospel accounts that describe similar events with different numbers of loaves, fish, or people fed (for instance, another account in Mark describes feeding 4,000 people with seven loaves). These differences in numbers might seem inconsistent to some readers.
