Contradiction with Mark 11:2
In Mark 11:2, Jesus instructs his disciples to find a colt, whereas in Matthew 21:2, they are to find both an ass and a colt.
Mark 11:2: And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring [him].
Contradiction with Luke 19:30
Luke 19:30 mentions only a colt upon which no one has ever sat, differing from Matthew 21:2 which includes an ass and her colt.
Luke 19:30: Saying, Go ye into the village over against [you]; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring [him hither].
Paradox #1
The contradiction or inconsistency could be related to the fulfillment of prophecy regarding the manner in which Jesus enters Jerusalem. In Matthew, Jesus tells his disciples to get both a donkey and her colt, which might seem inconsistent with other gospel accounts where only one animal is mentioned. This can raise questions about the accuracy and consistency of the event's portrayal across the different gospels.
Paradox #2
Some people point out a potential conflict between Matthew 21:2 and the accounts in other Gospels about Jesus instructing his disciples to get a donkey. In Matthew, it mentions both a donkey and a colt, while Mark and Luke only mention a colt. This difference can lead to questions about why the details don’t match exactly.
