Contradiction with Numbers 14:2
While Numbers 13:30 reflects Caleb's confidence, Numbers 14:2 shows the Israelites' lack of faith and complaint against entering the promised land.
Numbers 14:2: And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!
Contradiction with Numbers 13:31
Contradicting Caleb’s encouragement in Numbers 13:30, this verse describes other spies' fear and discouragement, claiming they are not able to go against the inhabitants.
Numbers 13:31: But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they [are] stronger than we.
Contradiction with Exodus 16:3
Despite Caleb’s optimism, this verse reveals the Israelites frequently expressed doubt and longing for Egypt whenever faced with challenges.
Exodus 16:3: And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, [and] when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.
Contradiction with Numbers 14:1
While Caleb tries to encourage the people in Numbers 13:30, this verse shows the whole congregation reacting with despair and weeping.
Numbers 14:1: And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.
Contradiction with Psalm 106:24
Contradicting Caleb's faith in Numbers 13:30, this verse criticizes the Israelites for not believing in God's promise for the land.
