According to Moses, the people came together to count and organize themselves by their families to see who belonged where, starting with those who were twenty years old and older. This helped them know how many people were in each family and where they fit in.
Numbers 1:18: And they assembled all the congregation together on the first [day] of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.
This verse states that in Christ there is no distinction between Jew or Greek, male or female, contradicting the genealogical emphasis and differentiation in Numbers 1:18.
Galatians 3:28: There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
