"But I say unto you, Love your enemies..." This contradicts instructions of vengeance and destruction in Numbers 31:1.

Contradiction with Isaiah 2:4
"...nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." This contradicts the instruction for war in Numbers 31:1.

Contradiction with Romans 12:19
"Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath..." This contradicts the theme of retribution found in Numbers 31:1.

Contradiction with Matthew 26:52
"for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword." This contradicts the martial actions encouraged in Numbers 31:1.
