Contradiction with Numbers 4:3
This verse sets the age for those who serve in the tabernacle from thirty years old, not twenty-five as mentioned in Numbers 8:24.
Numbers 4:3: From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.
Contradiction with 1 Chronicles 23:24
This verse specifies that the Levites began their service at the age of twenty, while Numbers 8:24 states twenty-five.
1 Chronicles 23:24: These [were] the sons of Levi after the house of their fathers; [even] the chief of the fathers, as they were counted by number of names by their polls, that did the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from the age of twenty years and upward.
Paradox #1
The historical inconsistency regarding Numbers 8:24 lies in the age at which Levites begin their service. This verse states they start at age 25, but another verse, Numbers 4:3, states the starting age is 30. This difference creates a contradiction about when Levites begin their work in the tabernacle.
Paradox #2
Numbers 8:24 states that Levites begin their service at the age of 25. However, earlier in Numbers 4:3, it is mentioned that Levites start their work at age 30. The inconsistency lies in the differing ages at which Levites are supposed to begin their duties.
