Contradiction with Isaiah 55:12
While Zechariah 11:2 speaks of lamentation and destruction of trees, Isaiah 55:12 describes the trees clapping their hands and rejoicing in peace and joy.
Isaiah 55:12: For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap [their] hands.
Contradiction with Revelation 22:2
Zechariah 11:2 portrays trees as objects of mourning, whereas Revelation 22:2 presents trees as sources of healing and life.
Revelation 22:2: In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, [was there] the tree of life, which bare twelve [manner of] fruits, [and] yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree [were] for the healing of the nations.
Contradiction with Psalm 1:3
Zechariah 11:2 depicts the trees being ruined or destroyed, but Psalm 1:3 describes a tree prospering and fruitful.
Psalm 1:3: And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. [wither: Heb. fade]
Contradiction with Ezekiel 17:24
Zechariah 11:2 presents a destruction narrative, yet Ezekiel 17:24 proclaims that God makes high trees low and dry trees flourish, opposing the notion of destruction.
Ezekiel 17:24: And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have spoken and have done [it].
